Life in Rojava

Another world is possible. A good read, as a journalist visits Qamishli, the region's largest city, to teach for a week:

Also, here is a recent talk by Janet Biehl (Bookchin's partner for many years) on her visits to Rojava.

I am worried about the future of Rojave with Turkey presenting a big threat. http://rudaw.net/english/middleeast/turkey/08022016

I also came across this Rojave wordpress site. https://rojavareport.wordpress.com/
It makes me wonder if it would be worthwhile to start a petition, for instance, on MoveOn asking the US and Turkey to leave Rojave alone.

BeeB, I am worried too. Erdogan seems to be taking Turkey in a very dangerous direction. I noticed there is a Seattle FB group that actively posts (including a suggested boycott of tourism there, and a movie in Portland next weekend) about Rojava.
